Portsmouth, VA: Easter Weekend Continued…

January 9, 2010 at 9:37 pm (dating, Love, Navy, travel) ()

The drive back to VA started at 2pm Central time and we expected to reach VA by 2am Eastern time, I’m not sure how we came up with that time frame, except that friends of ours told us that’s how long it took them…. clearly it took much longer…we didn’t arrive until 5am, 20 mins before J had to catch a bus to take him to his school, which is for some Navy training course he had to take. That entire day for me was a blur of sleeping because I wouldn’t fall asleep in the car while he was driving.
That night we checked into a Quality Inn, and went out for a nice dinner at a Bar & Grill… Jesse was pracically falling asleep at the table.
This was the first day I actually had any impression of a Navy schedule, and the first time I saw Jesse in uniform. Those work uniforms by the way were really… Very Nice and no wonder women tend to fall for a man in uniform, unfortunately for us women who want to ogle a little, the uniforms changed this past year, and they are now a blue camo… which in my opinion are nowhere near as nice… or maybe they are just less form fitting 🙂

Left to my own devices on the second day of my extended stay… I went exploring in downtown Portsmouth. I had maybe one of the most peaceful days I could possibly have exploring this little historic area, walking up and down the streets… I talked with several different people, shop owners, a church secretary, a Navy wife… and I’m not going to lie, I think this was the moment when I got a little excited and a little too caught up in our relationship. The women I spoke to were all curious about me and wanted to know more about my purpose here therefore my relationship with Jesse… and I embellished a little… I might have used the word fiance once or twice… *Insert a soft pink blush*
